Cyclist Pro is being developed day by day. Today I am coming up with lots of changes about the game. I am using Kanban board with GitHub projects and the project's TODOs are almost done. Let's start with Splash Screen.
Splash Screen and Branding
Branding is everything. Cyclist Pro is the first 3d mobile game of the AppViolet Games. However, I believe AppViolet Games will be a known mobile game studio in 2024. Cyclist Pro and other games will reach out to millions of installs on the App Store and Play Store. My first aim is to make AppViolet Games a well-known brand in the mobile game studios. Therefore I am adding this AppViolet Games logo to the splash screen of Cyclist Pro.
The Design Idea Behind the Main Scene
I need a home scene welcoming the player and navigating to the game scene. But I thought it shouldn't be a regular scene, it should have a nice idea behind the design. AppViolet Games is a mobile game studio established in Antalya, Turkey. Antalya has well-known historical places in its old town. One of them is Hadrian's Gate. Hadrian's Gate welcomes tourists every day of the year. Therefore I thought Cyclist Pro should welcome the players with the design of Hadrian's Gate. It displays The Temple of AppViolet Games but will be updated like Hadrian's Gate probably.
Loading Screen
There was a bug in the first seconds of the game. Because there are lots of initiated game objects in runtime while drawing the Game Scene. Therefore I should create a loading scene to load the game scene async under the loading scene. It's a simple game-play image showing the percentage label.
Game Scene
The game scene was updated according to the previous devlog. I updated the UI of the control buttons which are placed bottom corners of the device screen. It shows the real function of what that control button does.
While you are passing the items without hitting, you are increasing the score point. You can follow the instant score point from the text placed left-top corner of the device.
The energy bar hasn't been changed. Still placed in the top-right corner of the device. You have 5 bars of energy in the game. You will use one of them to jump. But after 1 second, you will gain 1 bar of energy. If you waste all of your energy while jumping repeatedly, you cannot jump until waiting 1 second to gain energy. If you hit the pizza in the route, your energy will be wiped and you cannot jump :)
Score Scene
The simple aim behind the Endless Runner games is - that the Cyclist Pro is one of the Endless Runner games too- reaching the highest score ever. Therefore score scene is the really important scene in our game. A leaderboard will be added to this scene in the next sprint.
